Supercritical Boilers

Supercritical Boiler

Ultra Efficiency

Increased output. Lower operating costs. Reduced emissions. Mitsubishi’s new generation of supercritical sliding pressure boilers delivers it all, in an integrated system package that pushes the boundaries of high-efficiency, low-NOx burner performance.

Featuring higher main steam temperature (1119° F*) and pressure (3684 psig*), our boilers drive up to 1000MW of steam generator output at industry-best levels of efficiency.

*Specification for Misumi No. 1 boiler for Chugoku Electric Power Co. Inc., Japan, which entered commercial operation in 1998.

Reduced NOx

  • Innovative Vertical Water Wall Furnace design is simpler than spiral wall configurations, minimizes pressure losses and maintains uniform fluid temperature distribution, even at partial loads.
  • Dual-flame A-PM Burner reduces NOx release in the combustion zone.
  • MACT [Mitsubishi Advanced Combustion Technology] system provides second-stage in-furnace NOx reduction above the combustion zone.
  • Fine-grinding (90% of particles sized 200 mesh or finer) MRS Pulverizer with rotary classifier minimizes unburnt carbon in the fly ash.
